Wade trips are the most versatile option we offer and work well for just about any angler regardless of experience. When you’re wading you’re in the river, moving at your own pace, working specific runs and rising fish one cast at a time. It’s a great format for learning the fundamentals of fly fishing, dialing in your technique, or getting into the kind of technical fishing that the Fryingpan and Crystal River are known for. Your guide will be right alongside you the entire day, coaching your cast, reading the water with you, and handling the net when the moment comes. Wade trips are available on the Fryingpan, Roaring Fork, Crystal, and Colorado Rivers and can be customized to fit your group size and schedule.
A float trip on the Roaring Fork or Colorado River is one of the best ways to spend a day in this valley. Your guide rows the boat while you focus entirely on fishing, covering miles of water, reaching stretches that most anglers never see, and making presentations to fish throughout varied and beautiful river habitat. Float trips move at a pace that keeps things exciting from start to finish and offer a perspective on the Roaring Fork canyon that you simply can’t get any other way. While floats tend to suit more experienced anglers well, we’ve had tremendous success with first-timers on the boat too. If you’re comfortable taking direction and willing to put in the casts, a float trip is absolutely within reach regardless of your experience level.
We also offer a Power Hour float for anglers who want to chase fish on dry flies at sundown, one of the most exciting windows of the entire day on these rivers.
All guided trips with Gone Fishing Colorado include quality rods, reels, waders, wading boots, and flies. You don’t need to bring anything other than a valid Colorado fishing license, appropriate clothing for the conditions, and a willingness to have a good time. If you have your own gear you prefer to fish with, bring it along. We’re happy to work with whatever setup you’re comfortable using. Lunch and snacks are provided on full day float trips. Half day trips include snacks and water on the water.
A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your date. We recommend booking as far in advance as possible, particularly for summer trips, as our calendar fills up quickly during peak season. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible so we can do our best to accommodate you.
Colorado fishing licenses are required for all anglers and are not included in the trip price. Licenses can be purchased online through Colorado Parks and Wildlife prior to your trip.
If you have questions about which trip is the right fit for your group, experience level, or the time of year you’re visiting, give us a call and we’ll help you figure it out. We’d rather have that conversation upfront than have you show up to a trip that isn’t the right match.
If a day on the reservoir sounds more your speed, our sister company Apex Sport Fishing offers guided fishing trips on the local reservoirs in the Roaring Fork Valley. It’s a great option for clients who want to mix up their experience or bring along someone in the group who prefers a different style of fishing.

Every trip with Gone Fishing Colorado includes your guide, all the gear you need, and a full day of local knowledge working in your favor. Whether you’re wading a technical stretch of the Fryingpan or floating a canyon section of the Roaring Fork, our rates are built around giving you the best possible experience at a fair price. All skill levels are welcome on every trip and we’ll make sure the day is tailored to what you’re looking for from the moment we hit the water.
Spots go fast, especially in summer and fall. Book your trip online or give us a call and we’ll get you set up with the right guide, the right water, and a day on the river you won’t forget.
